Windows Not Detected?

Go to solution Solved by Sawa Takahashi,

Maybe your EUFI partition got corrupted and now your computer can't find it and throws errors. The UEFI is used to tell the BIOS where the partitions are located.

I don't know how to repair an UEFI partition. I usually wipe the disks and reinstall Windows from scratch when it happens.

i-9 14900K

RTX 4080

2TB M.2

32GB x 2 5600 DDR5

Windows 11 64x Home Edition

Went out of town for 5 days, came back and suddenly my pc can't find an operating system to launch. I go into the bios, and the boot order is all default/placeholder names, no actual drives listed in UEFI mode. When I switch off of UEFI, it detects the M.2 with no issue, lists it as a Samsung drive, but even when placed anywhere in the boot order, no os detected. Decided I'd then try to repair it with the Windows installation media. Each option comes back with an unknown error and can't continue. Then I tried to just install it again, and I was met with

"This PC can't run Windows 11"

"This PC doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to install this version of Windows."

So I'm at a loss here. It worked the day I left, didn't do anything weird with it.

Any ideas? All help is appreciated.

if it's a 980 PRO or 990 PRO, i would check if it's one of those with suicidal firmware if you didn't update it.

if you can read it in a USB NVME reader but not wright to it, it's dead. but you can still copy data from it as long as it lasts.

the effect is it's turning read only until it's unreadable.
