Most tray-load USB optical drives are basically what you're looking for but pre-assembled.

 

If you're just trying to read CDs and DVDs, pick any drive in your budget. As far as I'm concerned, they're all interchangeable jellybean parts.

I am getting a new case with a ODD spot, ny CPU gets to lie 90c+ when I start games.

It would nice if software started coming on USB sticks. I think we still would like a pysical copy to buy from a store or estore. Amazon has Windows 11 flas drives why no other software?
