If it works with the motherboard header, but not with the power button on the case there's a couple problems it could be.

Bad wiring on the case.

Bad button on the case.

You're accidentally connecting the header to the motherboard wrong. The pins and connectors are small, this one is easy to do.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Not sure why you called for me exactly haha

So if you're able to jump it to boot up properly with touching the pins the issue is most likely with the button itself.

Make sure to check your motherboard manual (or look on the board itself if it's printed on) for exactly the pinout is for your model. I've heard that it can differ from manufacturer to manufacturer (not quite standardised) while making double sure you connected the on/off button properly.
If you're 100% sure you did, perhaps the case is faulty, more likely at least then motherboard being faulty if you ask me.

Good luck!

What else have you tried to do to fix this? Anything to look into the wiring or the switch?

nothing, may be also my fat fingers not pressing them fully down but they're fully down. , may be the case button, is there a possibility my motherboard is fried?

If the header just completes a circuit and there's no power going to the button from somewhere else, how would it have fried the motherboard?

If the motherboard was fried, would it still turn on with a screwdriver?
