have u tried IPS and GTG monitors cuz apparently ghosting on most of them is almost non existent from what i hear

Ghosting and dark smearing is a VA issue to varying degrees.  Some monitors are better than others and some people

notice more than others.  VA got great contrast ratio, typically 3000-4000, compared to 1000 on average for IPS.

IPS has better color accuracy and usually none of the 2 negatives found on VA.

Just do plenty research on your options before you buy.

User reviews are more reliable than official reviews, in large numbers.

I've never had a high refresh rate monitor for my pc. I've experienced the difference in my phone from 60hz to 120hz. there're extreme customs where i live on monitors so im kinda limited to the monitors made here. i have 3 options with my budget, the 2k 27"inch 144hz odyssey G5 with VA and the AOC 1080p 24" 180hz which is IPS and GTG unlike the rest and the more expensive lenovo leigon with 24", 1080p and 240 OC to 280hz which i think is a VA. I've seen some scary reviews on the odyssey one saying the ghosting is a very big issue but honestly i like it's 27" which i won't get with the rest. same goes for the lenovo even though its a 280** hz. i can't go over budget and my main focus is competitive FPS. also is the differece that big between the 240hz and the 180hz and which is better ((assuming)) no ghosting for the later and plenty for the one before ??

There's no definitive answer to the ghosting issue.  These visual issues are like audio, varies from person to person.

I've used VA since March '23, 2 different models, haven't had a problem with either.

However from researching the G5 myself there is a ton negative feedback on that thing.

So I'd be cautious with that one.

Depends. The buyers of cheap monitors, frankly, often don't know what they're talking about.

As do buyers of expensive monitors.

Or are you suggesting that anyone with a 4090 (not a monitor) could work at Level1tech (or whatever that channel name is).

I'm not suggesting anything I put little stock in an inexperienced users take on the performance of their first $200 gaming monitor.

That's not what you said though.  I 100% agree with your later post and 100% disagree with your first 🙂

Well any LCD has it. They improved over years, though getting something really cheap will be meh vs something better. Though yeah better then some old slow crap.  Best to get IPS in general, VA aside from top tier one is crap, TN only worth for aure high refresh rate ones.
