Hello all,

my sister has a hp P6320BE desktop that she wants to upgrade. Budget as low as possible (lower than 250€ - we are in Belgium). She really only plays The Sims 3 and WoW, so nothing really intensive + day-to-day browsing and stuff.

These are the specs:

 - MSI MS-7613 mobo (H57 Express - LGA1156)

 - Intel Core i3 530 (2,93 GHz)

 - 6 GB RAM (DDR3-1333)

 - ATI Radeon HD5450 1GB

 - 2x 750 GB random Seagate drives @ 5400rpm.

 - 300W PSU

I suggested to add an SSD (I chose this one - ADATA SP900 128 GB), and to upgrade the GPU to a 750TI (this one, MSI 2GB/OC).

What do you guys think? Is this a worthy upgrade for her? She really doesn't want to buy a new system anytime soon or spend a lot of money...

Thanks for the opinions.

Greetings,

Stef

I would say an SSD and a 750 ti is a good idea. Although I'm sure something cheaper could play sims. SSD make a world of a difference. Make sure you only get a 750 ti that doesn't have a 6 pin because that PSU might not handle it. Unless the 5450 has a 6 pin. The SSD looks good.

Get a better video card, something like a GTX 750 or 750 Ti should be fine with their low TDP's, I don't trust the 300w no-name PSU.

CPU is still pretty decent and the RAM seems OK but the video card is shite mate, I have one in my GF's PC only because it cost next to nothing and it is better than the on-board.

Yeah I checked and the 5450 has no 6pin either, so I will definately recheck that the 750ti that I will order doesn't need one. 300W is not much, but a 750ti has only a 60W TDP, so should be fine. Thanks!

I don't really trust the no-name PSU's as well, but I really can't fit a new and better one into the budget :-(. Thanks for the input!

No worries but atleast that Maxwell video card won't over-stretch the PSU and the 750 Ti is a bloody sweet card, she'll be very happy with it :)

I would let it run for a day before you get near that PC. Just in case your PSU turns into a nuke.
