Tested my hardcore debloated Windows ISO. "Windows Setup could not configure to run on this hardware" error message at the black screen which is before the OOBE. I suspect stripping out the OOBE itself might have caused this issue, but I did configure an Unattended install. Is the OOBE still necessary for an unattended install? Because before that I had tried an ISO which was much simpler debloated, and I did see the OOBE and the first logon animation, even though I had configured unattended.

I am not that insane enough to really squeeze out every component out of Windows. I am fine keeping something like the OOBE, not that it will even take any resources once installation is completed. Using Linux has completely changed how I look at Windows, and I am not only trying to create a much faster Windows system, but also trying to completely De-Microsoft-ify Windows. That is why I am planning to even strip out the whole shell UI and basic programs to third party alternatives, because they are plainly just better.

I don't believe that I really need the OOBE for the installation. There must be a straightforward way to not use it, for example you can install Windows without using the default setup and just extract the image through DISM manually. Right now, I will try another ISO I have which is a little less debloated.

BROOOOOOOOO. What you are attempting is absolute insanity. Trying to demicrosoftify Windows is like trying to deappleify macOS, in other words, its stupid because by the time you achieve it you will end up with a fucked up broken piece of shit that isn't even really Windows anymore.

There's already like a gazillion of light/decluttered/debloated Windows installers, why trying to do one more ?

The success many people have achieved is really good.

Why do it when Linux exists?

I have some custom Windows 11 ISOs if you'd like them, not sure how I'd share a huge ISO file over the internet though, and you probably don't want to download a random Windows installer from a random person lol (but i promise it's 100% safe!)

One of them i made using NTLite, and the other one with MicroWin, I was able to remove a ton of bloat. The NTLite one is a little smaller and more debloated but it's more annoying to set up, MicroWin is easier with the Chris Titus Tech winutil
