First PC Build?

Go to solution Solved by iNothing,

Wait now I'm confused the first one you sent or the second one?

Go with the intel builds linked by either SAV1OUR or Faceman

Hey guys so a while ago I had saved up a bunch of money (Then Christmas and the Steam sale happened...) and was discussing things with my friend because I wanted to build my own PC.

So this is what we came up with, we both were not pros and he only has small experience with building PC's. I know how though so we got that covered. :P

Here are the parts.

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 - High Air Flow Mid Tower Computer Case

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Processor: AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Desktop Processor

A 2TB HDD 120GB SSD

Graphics Card: MSI Gaming N760 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card

Power Supply: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 Intel 4th Gen CPU Haswell and AMD Phenom

OS: Windows 7

If anything will conflict or I can get something better for a better price or anything that would suit my needs better would be great.
I will be using it for PC Video Gameplay videos using fraps in 720p with commentary I will also be editing and rendering then uploading. :P

Thanks in advance guys!

P.s. I wasn't sure if I'm aloud to share newegg links so if that is needed and allowed let me know. :)

The power supply is a bit too much for the system but if you plan to upgrade in the future it will be fine

I'm not sure I will be for a while. :P Can you recommend a good size? Also maybe some quiet fans, or an aftermarket cooler. No water cooling though. It gets pretty hot here in the summer and really cold in winter.

Also is it worth it to buy the case now and move my terrible store bought ancient windows vista PC into it until I can afford the rest of it? (mine runs pretty hot in its small case and is very loud.)

What is your budget and where do you live?

Also do you need a monitor, keyboard or mice?

@CosmicMeteor

What is your total budget?  Does the OS need to be included in the price, or do you have one that you can reuse? What games are being played?

I got a Razer Black widow and a Raze death adder. 1 tv I use as a monitor that is fine and a old monitor that is fine.

Canada BC. budget is maybe 1,000$ - 1,400$ MMO's, Minecraft, FPS, and anything I can get my hands on. I got allot of games on steam.

I can probably get a OS from a friend.

I should also mention looks do not matter. :) But I prefer red.

For such a large budget, you should be going Intel.  Also, MMOs run much, much better on Intel than AMD.  This build I created will give you incredible all around performance for gaming and video editing/rendering while remaining highly upgradeable.  Next upgrade should be to 16GB of RAM.
