What is better?

I am currently looking into making a PC and I need a GPU. My two choices are a Radeon RX 6600 8GB (Brand New, CAD 250) or an NVIDIA RTX 4060 (Used, CAD 175). I was looking into both and the 4060 seems to get a lot of hate.

What should I choose and also is there anything bad about my builds?

Looking at benchmarks the 4060 is faster than the 6600. So makes more sense to get that in your case. But the 4060 only has 8gb of vram and when bought new the 4060 is overpriced so that's why people don't like it.

Worse than my 3 year old 3060 Ti.

I have a 6600 here too somewhere, nice beater for sure. But... just don't do the 4060, lol.

Is there a reason the 5900 is marked at 150? If you are getting it at 150 from somewhere, it is fine. But at normal price just get a 5600gt. Also get 32gb of ram. Go with the 6600, and don’t forget to enable sam

At same price the 4060 is better (but used!)

The 5900X is a bit out of place here, not sure the old budget mobo will be very good with it, a 5700X3D would make more sense, or even a 5700X ...

Getting a heavily discounted 5900X eh? Be prepared to teak PBO or power limit it, especially on a budget mobo

 

Between the two cards I'd take the 4060 assuming its not damaged or a scam
