Contemplating upgrade.

Hello,

I usually use my PC work work and gaming (Warzone, APEX, Helldivers 2).

Current Build:

  • i5-6600k currently at 4300Mhz and 1.36V
  • MSI Z170-A Pro
  • G.Skill 2x8gb DDR4 2400 MHz
  • Gigabyte Geforce RTX 3080ti 12GB VRram
  • NZXT Kraken X61 AIO

I am thinking of upgrading to:

  • Ryzen 5 5600x
  • MSI B550-A PRO
  • 2x8GB Ram at 3600Mhz

What do you guys think worth it? Or should I save a bit and get AM5 and DDR5?

Either way would I have to upgrade my AIO?

new am4 is stupid due to how overpriced it is, only viable if you either already have it or you buy cheap used ryzens + b3/450 boards

what country?

budget?

a ddr4 12600k(f) may or may not be an interesting option with a cheap <100$ h610/b660 or z690

though an am5 ryzen 7600 + b650m hdv is not that much more even if you consider ddr5 pricing and then theres the 7500f that may be available locally depending on country or for ~120$ on aliexpress

Im in the U.S.

Trying to keep budget below $300 for upgrading.

I keep hearing the ryzen 5 5600x is a great bang for your buck.

Thanks for the input.
