George here!  Want to put together a computer desktop Hi Res audio system for under $1,000. !  I have a pr of powered desktop speakers which are Behringer MS20 with a 24/192 Dac built in! This pr of speakers in not included in my budget so I still have $1,000 to spend!

I listen to Vocals, Easy Listening, Folk, Jazz, R&B, Classical & New Age

I don't listen to Pop, Rock, Rap or Country

I don't like low Bass much

My computer is a 1 year old MiniPC running Windows 11

I have no audio outputs on my PC except USB ports including 2 USB C ports not in use.

I'll come up with more info and some questions in a few days, til then - Hello & thanks for reading, George

Audio? are you sure you want to go this route?

If you don't play games then computer's gonna be a lot cheaper than most builds here, AND you could get away with buying one of those 'silent' cases with all the insulating foam inside, those are terrible for gaming PCs due to all the heat but great for normal builds, you could even go for that and a fanless heatsink if your CPU is efficient enough.

And even I listen to country music.

Caroline doesn't need to hear all this, she's a highly trained professional.

Caroline, I think I missed up my original intro post.

I want to add a DAC/AMP, Wired Headphones and Speakers to my MiniPC I already have.  May need some help in choosing DAC/AMP and Headphones and also how to

attach my speakers I have now to my MiniPC.

I'm not a game player at all!  I do like country music thru the 1980's but have lost interest!

Thanks for your reply and sorry to not explain my needs better! Senior Citizen, George
