PC strictly for work

Budget (including currency): $600Country: U.S
Looking to build a pc strictly for work. I do some light graphic design and coding, as well as lots of video editing, ranging from 1080p to 4k. Doesn't need to get it done the fastest, I just prioritize staying close to $600 and getting bang for the buck.

why buy 5600g if you have an gpu already? its basically same as ryzen 5500 but with igpu

also for memory u can go with 3600mhz for same price:

viper steel seems to have more agressive cooling, but they are mostly the same with 18-22-22-42 timings (close to 4400mhz's timings)

Considering you'll already have a very capable dGPU, I'd look at the i5 12400f or even i5 12600kf. LGA1700 motherboards can get really inexpensive, and if you get a decent Z690 board to start, you can always drop in up to a 14900k in the future. LGA1700 has a lot more upgradeability than AM4.

Intel Core i5-12600KF - Core i5 12th Gen Alder Lake 10-Core (6P+4E) 3.7 GHz LGA 1700 125W Desktop Processor - BX8071512600KF - Newegg.com $161

ASRock Z690M Phantom Gaming 4 LGA 1700 (14th,13th,12th Gen) DDR4 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com

$129

A i5 12400f comes in at $138 comparably, but I think the extra $22 goes a long way. Intel Core i5-12400F - Core i5 12th Gen Alder Lake 6-Core 2.5 GHz LGA 1700 65W Desktop Processor - BX8071512400F - Newegg.com

Both options will provide substantially more CPU performance than an R5 5600G. At the top end, the 14900k vs 5950x gets nearly double the performance, so what you could simply drop in at some point in the future.

LGA1700's CPU selection is also going to be saturated within a couple of years to where it might be really easy to drop in upgrade compared to AM4. AM4 CPUs also have the problem of PGA pins, so CPUs are just as likely to go bad than motherboards compared to LGA, where motherboards are dramatically more likely to fail. That opens up people selling good CPUs because of a failed motherboard.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9xvR89

reference list since most of the stuff will be used

5600(x) are 70-90$ used with 5700x/5800x at 120-150$ used, 3600(x) are also ~50$ used if you dont need the cpu performance that much, theres no risk with used cpus since they dont up and die on you just that youll wanna check for physical damage

used midranger b3/450 like the gaming plus/tomahawk for ~50$ or less, really stupid to buy a new b550 when a used b3/450 matches them for half the price, but if you wanna go new anyways id reccomend the b450m pro vdh max at 75$ cause even if it is worse than those used midrangers you dont have to check for bios update and you have a warranty which is pretty useful on a mobo

better ssd cause the p3 and its plus counterpart are trash for value being very slow + qlc + dramless compared to the competition for a given price, this is also dramless but atleast its tlc and half decent speed wise

used 6800 probably somewhere around 250-300$, if you need nvidia id reccomend either a 3060 or 3070 which should be around 200$ used, with luck haggling and budget stretching maybe even a 3080

used case since a hunk of metal that doesnt contribute in any way to the pc is not something you wanna be wasting money on at this budget, should be able to get one <10$ or even free if someones just throwing one out

better psu for the price, half decent when you consider that its new at that particular price point but 40-60$ should get you 750/850w rm(x) or equivalent units used and there are probably cheaper units available than those so used is still prefferable
