Does anyone have experience with the app "Charity miles"?

Just learned of this app called "Charity miles", which apparently donates money to a foundation of your choice, the more you walk and cycle.

 

Haven't used it yet, only set it up, cause I'm not going anywhere today, but how well does it work?

Looks like you still have to get people to chip in. The money doesn't appear out of thin air.

Ok, makes sense, why I wanted to get some feedback from you guys here, cause it sounded a little too good to be true.
