Cpu upgrade

I’m currently running a gigabyte Aorus elite ax with a i513400f . I’m wanting to upgrade to the i7 14700k . Do I need to do anything like download bios updates before shutting down and swapping or can I just swap? Would it post if I swap ?

The Gigabyte Aorus doesn't specifically mentioned about update BIOS support for 14th Intel, so it should be fine

Although, I would still recommend to update the BIOS as it usually fix the security vulnerability and some tweak to optimize PC performance, especially since Intel LGA1700 is still ongoing production and active support from the manufacturer

Just check CPU support for the board you have and if there is a BIOS that supports the CPU you want for it.
You'll know what to do from there.
