Recently, my PC crashed while I was playing a game, and since then, it hasn't been able to boot into Windows 11. Upon startup, it shows the screen where I can access the BIOS, then it loads briefly before entering another screen that says "Preparing automatic repair." After that, it restarts on its own. Sometimes, after several restarts, I can access the blue troubleshooting menu. However, none of the options in there seem to resolve the issue.

I was advised to update the BIOS and reinstall Windows. I've successfully updated the BIOS to the latest version. However, when I select the SSD where I've installed the Windows Media Creation Tool from the boot menu, it just restarts and returns to the "preparing automatic repair" loop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

in troubleshooting mode, did you open an admin cli and enter: powercfg -h off  ?

it can be a fubar hibernation\fastboot file that's totaly garbage and crashes your system booting, since it tries to load the garbage hibernated system..

it can be powercfg /h off ..

SSD might be bad. You can try clearing the SSD. Secure erase or even using the Windows USB (repair disk) to repair the installed windows.

I would start by trying with a fresh SSD/HDD to see if that gets you any further than where you've got to already. Install a fresh Windows Media Creation Tool ISO on a USB, See if it will let you install onto the new drive. If that works, your original drive was corrupted.

You could also use another computer to create a new (and more up to date) windows media creation tool ISO onto your removable storage. Make sure you wipe it first, and download the whole setup onto the removable storage, instead of just using it as the install path

If this doesn't get you any further, and you're using a SATA SSD, try using a different SATA slot, and likewise with M.2 Drives.

If any of this doesn't work, I would attempt to reseat the CPU. Very occasionally, and particularly with pin based CPUs, this issue could be caused by a bad contact on the socket, and reseating it could solve this.

Hope you manage to get it sorted
