Budget (including currency): ~1600-1800 €

Country: Finland

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 3D-modeling, animation and rendering; 2D digital art & textures; photo/video editing; gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Existing system: HP EliteBook 840 G3 14" (upgraded to 16 Gb RAM) with  ProArt Display PA278CGV, hubs and stuff for SSD-drives and Kingston XS2000

Planning to build a decent gaming/hobby graphics PC. However due to my circumstances, most of it is going to happen one part per month at a time.

Already bought parts: Cooler Master HAF 500 (tower, windowed, black) 100 €

Next part this month:  MSI B760 GAMING PLUS WIFI, ATX motherboard | 180 € (bit pricey?)

Month after that: 650-750 W power supply + Endorfy Navis F280 liquid cooler | ~150 € + 100 €

...: Intel Core i5-13600K | ~340 €

...: Kingston NV2 NVMe 4 Tb M.2 PCIe SSD | ~300 € (probably going with two smaller drives if the price is better since there's room on the MB)

...: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200 MHz CL40 64 Gb | ~200 € (maybe a better set available later in the year)

(could get OS installed and get the PC in basic use at this point, since the processor comes with integrated graphics)

...: MSI GeForce RTX 4060 VENTUS 2X BLACK 8G OC | ~340 € (the manufacturer will probably change depending on what's available and price)

...: APC Back-UPS BX1600MI-GR | ~300 €

Hoping to leave the memory, graphics card etc. for later parts in hopes of the prices coming down even a little bit, but I think that would be a decent setup to get started.

Later on going to be ordering other stuff too like extra cooling, PCIe USB-C card, Sennheiser HD 560S headphones; mechanical keyboard, new mouse & mousepad; Zoom H20 stereo recorder and a camera for nature/texture photography etc.

Just been about 20 years since I ordered a new PC's parts back when I was a teenager and way more into this stuff, so wondering if anything obvious is wrong with the setup? All advice would be appreciated. :3

Hello... I was able to find you some Better Quality Parts and I got you a GPU Upgrade as well. You had picked the 4060 8GB OC, I threw in a 4060 Ti 16GB. This will help a lot with your Content Creation. I had to lower your RAM down to 32GB but that should be more than enough for now to get you going and you can always add more later if it's needed. I had to fix the Speeds of the RAM too. For Intel 1700 and AMD AM5 the Recommended Speeds is 6000Mhz CL30 (No More, No Less!!!).

Please have a look and let me know what you think.

This is not a good way to build a system. Don't buy any more parts. Instead save the money you plan to spend. When you have enough buy the rest of the system. That way if a part is faulty you will know within the merchant return period and if new tech is announced you will be able to take advantage.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
