So ive been having connection issues recently. The game is Call of Duty, specifically MW2. I only play the free stuff, would never give them money, but it is just so unbelievably laggy and unstable. I know it is like this anyway, but recently its gotten way worse. My friends who play, both on pc and console, dont have the issue. It takes forever to load, launch, and once im in a game theres like a 50% chance textures wont load and ill get stuck in the parachuting animation on the ground. I have good wifi, and a good pc. No other game has this issue. I have an RTX 4060 and ryzen 5 5600g. I keep settings as conservative as possible, but its still unplayable. If i do manage to load in, ill sometimes have "packet bursts" and lag, or itll show that my connection is completely fine but ill still lag until the game crashes or just freezes. Anyone know why this happens?

OOC, are you plugged into your 4060? Or have you plugged HDMI/DP into the motherboard.

Another thing to check is are you maxing out your VRAM?

Also, are you running the game off a hard drive?

Finally, whats your full system specs?

System specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D [-30 PBO all core]

GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX NITRO+

Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 32GB 6000MHz CL32 DDR5

Storage: 2TB SN850X, 1TB SN850 w/ heatsink, 500GB P5 Plus (OS Storage)

Case: 5000D AIRFLOW

Cooler: Thermalright Frost Commander 140

PSU: Corsair RM850e

Case Fans: Fractal Prisma (120 x6, 140 x3) + 2x40mm fans

All three answers are no. I know to plug in to my GPU, i use DP, and its run off of an SSD. Full system specs are the 4060, 5600g, 16gb 3200mhz ram, 2 tb of ssd storage and external Intel pcie wifi 6 card. Motherboard is some gigabyte, i dont remember

Hmmmm, would MW2 be maxing out the 4060s VRAM? therefore youll need to constantly load assets instead of having them cached?

Have you changed any wifi settings recently, for example you might have good speeds on 5GHz but have a very slightly patchy connection and that presents itself much more noticably when playing games than say downloading something?

What is your upload, download and ping? Also the PCIe wifi card, what PCIE gen and slot thing (the name eludes me rn, i.e PCIe gen 4 x16 for gpus) is it running at, you might have good wifi to the card but slow to process it through the pcie slot if its not configured correctly

My wifi is fine, download is like 30 Mbps and upload is like 20 something. Wifi card is in pcie gen 4 slot. And I have the VRAM counter enabled, it never goes over 60%. I keep the settings low
