Yes, it's possible. There's tons of pieces of software designed to do just this, from ones that run inside Windows like Macron Reflect to ones that run off flash drives like Clonezilla. 

 

Personally, I've had the best luck with Clonezilla, so that would be my recommendation (especially since it's free).
