Yo,

so I tested this out on my local network and works pretty darn good,

has anyone used it to game from another location/ network ? Or is it only realy useful locally

Depends on your connections / latency between the 2 locations.

I work for an ISP with a very fast fiber backbone and at home had Verizon FiOS fiber. 

 

I can play games at 1080p from my home PC just fine and its a pretty good experience for anything that isn't an FPS. If you don't have quality connections from point a to point b, your mileage may vary.

I use it at 720p for strategy or turn based games. My internet is not good enough for anything else.
