Just got a 1080 a year ago from a friend before i had gtx 960. Its been working pretty well since i primarily play rocket league but wasn't the happiest playing remnant 2. Anyways im looking for something that will let me play newer games at some higher settings and not destroy my fps and also not break the bank.

 Intel Core i7 10700K @ 3.80GHz

 MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE WIFI

ram 32GB

A budget would be nice as peoples bank balances are different 😄

yeah my bad about that probably 500 to 600 is what i would be comfortable with. There can be bit of wiggle room if the performance increase substantial  enough. Also im in the states

No Worries!  Just a rough budget is easier to work with 🙂

An RTX 4070 Super would be fitting quite nicely into that budget if you want to go with Nvidia 🙂

thank you so much for the help. Glad the guy at microcenter when i first bought my pc told me to go with a 750w psu

Hehe, its a nice 'wattage insurance'.  The 4070 Super only draws 220w at full load actually, its only 40w more than your current GTX 1080!

The 4000 series from Nvidia are very efficient, the engineers did magic 😄

I run an overclocked RTX 4080 on my 750w and during heavy gaming I only see a full system load of 400-430w ( 4080 draws 320w stock ).

750w will last you a long time and for even more power hungry CPU's and GPU's 🙂

so i am a newb when it comes to this stuff but trying to pick up things. what is causing the $30 difference? just one gigabyte and the other msi?

No Problem 🙂  Yep, the $30 is just down to what they want to sell it at.

The MSI Ventus runs slightly warmer than the Gigabyte model but has a lower noise level to account for that. Its not running anywhere near dangerous levels of heat so I would personaly go with the MSI Ventus on this one.
I like silence.

As you can see the Gigabyte model is significantly shorter than the MSI Ventus.  What is your case so I can check the maximum GPU length.

Here is a video comparing Ventus OC and Windforce OC 🙂  I timed it at the spot.  This would be the 4070 non Super models but it should translate into the Super model as well.

i was looking at going with the MSI one. sorry i had to go find my old parts list from when i got it like 10 years ago. Its a corsair carbide series 200r windowed compact atx case

Awesome!  I have had a few MSI GPU's over the years and they have been great 🙂 My current GPU is MSI as well.

The Corsair Carbide Series 200r has a max GPU length of 420mm while the ''4070 SUPER 12GB VENTUS 3X OC'' is 308mm in length, so you have plenty of space 🙂
