Hello,

I have a gigabyte B760 DS3H AX DDR4

With an i9-13900KF processor (stupid combo I know 😅) but I have a light on the motherboard that is red and it is marked CPU. Does anyone know what it means?

It is in a cluster of 4 lights that are marked VGA, CPU, BOOT, and DRAM

The light are located by the CMOS battery.

(See attached Photos)

Sorry the camera doesn't show where the light is very well.

It means there's a problem with the CPU.

From the manual that CPU seems supported from the stock BIOS version so it's unlikely it's that it requires an update.

Firstly clear CMOS just in case.

If that doesn't help take CPU out, check for any bent pins/debris/dirt on the contacts, reinstall and ensure proper cooler mounting.

Unfortunately still have the light so I think the CPU may have been damaged in shipping. 😭

Remove the CPU from the motherboard socket.

Inspect the motherboard socket for any damage / bent pins.

Inspect the bottom of the CPU for signs of scratches / damage.

No bent pins and no scratches.

The box arrived pretty beat up and in a jiffy bag so I am returning it as I think the internals are broke😭PXL_20240212_223045812.thumb.jpg.452a6f9e22e56a33f284e15f5058e652.jpg
