Swap bootdrive question

Go to solution Solved by OhioYJ,

You can in many cases. In some cases like switching platforms should uninstall drivers. (Example: Intel to AMD or Nvidia to AMD, etc). Most cases it will just work. Many times it will work even if you don't do this.

That being said, I will always recommend reinstalling your OS. This is always the best idea, and makes sure you don't run into any weird issues.

Remember always have backups of your data.

Hello,

Im building a new pc and as soon as its done i will pass on my current pc to my son.

Now he has a pc atm so i was wondering if i can take out his m.2 bootdrive and swap it to my current pc and that just works? Or do i need to take additional steps?

thanks in advance
