Which keyboard?

Personally I do not recommend buying keyboards from manufacturers whose entire thing is gaming. Razer, Steelseries, Hyperx, etc are companies who make gaming things. A big portion of their design goes towards rgb lighting. If you go to a keyboard manufacturer (I love Keychron personally but there are other options) they make a genuinely good to use keyboard that can often be found at a better price while still maintaining all or most of the features (and adding other ones) of something like razer. If you are smart and get one that has swappable key switches you can put better ones in as preferences or needs change (or as they break).

As for switches: Thats a personal preference thing. You are going to go have to watch youtube videos to try and get a approximation of how they sound and feel. I like a long smooth press from Gateron G Pro Reds that my K8 Pro came with, and if I ever don't like them I can change them.

As for games: If you don't have a controller for FH5 you really should consider one. A cheap walmart controller is still 10x better than a keyboard in my experience with that game, but to each their own. For CSGO (Did you mean CS2 or are you still playing CSGO because if you are thats awesome) something wired (or with a wired mode) will be best for latency if thats your concern (though anything non bluetooth should be fine). Same goes for Hitman and MW2.

I would ask around what keyboards people like and see what suits you needs. The world of (semi)custom mechanical keyboards is so diverse and amazing. You can find anything at any price point and size (I would also consider how much you really need that number pad, i have been living with out one and it feels like my desk got bigger).

My personal recommendation: Go onto the Keychron website and look around. Look at other sellers too like Ducky, Drop, and Nuphy (to name a few). See what you like and what you don't like and narrow down the search. If a particular model catches your eye read reviews or ask on the forums about it. If after you look the Razer's still make the most sense to you thats fine. What you like is different from what I like, but I think you should at least take a look and not rush into the decision.

As for a specific keyboard: My Keycrhon K8 Pro  is the best thing i have purchased in a while. Give it a look and see. Though it is out of stock sometimes so you might have to be patient or find something else, and that the bluetooth mode has not worked with me so far.

Good luck in your keyboard adventures

I had been using the Steelseries Apex 7 (full size) for the last 2 years but over the past few months some of the switches have started to die out basically not register clicks or double clicking. I have decided to replace it and have shortlisted two keyboards. The Razer Huntsman V2 with Linear Optical red switches OR Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro with Yellow switches. Which one would you suggest I get and why? I mostly play CS:GO, Forza Horizon 5, Hitman and MW2.

Have you tried a few drops of alcohol in every misbehaving switch and working it out?

yeah, I personally wouldn't go with Razer. I've read enough tales of their bad quality to not recommend this.

And in any case, get something with hotswap switches so the next time a switch fails, you can just replace it.
