CPu 100% Gpu Sitting idle

Hi Team , 

My Pc is using CPU 100% while editing , encoding and simple object rendering from blender , where as my GPU is only sitting 10% max with average 50 Celsius . I am using this PC mainly for video editing and learning blender and some really low key 3d renders at times . 


Cpu - i7-6800k @3.40 
Gpu- gtx1080Ti
Ram - 64 gb

 

I understand my pc is very old and I have  very low pc knowledge . As i am looking to build a new one so i started watching Linus tech tips . After watching few videos , i started looking for these usages as it will determine what is lacking in my current pc .  i found my gpu is just sitting idle for most of the time and cpu is doing whole lot work, which doesn't feel right . 


Can some one please help me with this , or this is just lost cause ? TIA

Yes , i have setup the Premier , After effects and blender for GPU rendering following multiple videos online . 

Thats why i am so surprised , especially with blender , i used cycles (gpu compute , even changes it in preferences )but it still was using cpu 100% and gpu 6%
