Im currently saving up for a better gpu.

The one i currently have is a gtx 1650 (ik its a boomer in 2024)

The main game i play are fortnite minecraft and some AAA titles that are very graphics intensive

The issue at hand is that i want a used gpu and one that can get me 60 fps min at max settings at 1080 p

I heard on some yt shorts and else where that AMD cards run notoriously bad in fortnite but when i wanted more clarification couldnt find any reliable sources im thinking about getting an rtx 3060 but looking at some benchmarks i think the rx 6650 xt beats the 3060 for 50 dollars cheaper so im stuck between these 2 options

My cpu btw is an i5 9400f i dont mind a little cpu bottleneck

for 1080p 60fps u can get Intel or AMD for fps per dollar I don't think you would need anything over a 4060ti/7600xt for that resolution

Just got an Intel Arc A770 8gb yesterday for 2nd rig and I'm playing cyberpunk at 60fps locked 1080p highest settings no ray traycing or dlss/fsr

What is your budget?

AMD for sure.

I don't really agree with @Ottoman420's answer, because 40 series (nvidia) and 7000 series (amd) is too expensive and fast for 1080p60 gaming.

I'd recommend upgrading to a 6600 XT or 6650 XT.

Or you can keep your 1650 (its way better than you think, I might buy one to make a budget $200 PC made from an Optiplex)

The thing is the 1650 barely gets 70 fps at performance mode in fortnite im pretty sure it has degraded over time

I didn't suggest a 40 series card or a 7000 series card unless its the 7600xt (yet to be released)

I did recommend the 16gb A770 and the 6600xt..

" for 1080p 60fps u can get Intel or AMD for fps per dollar I don't think you would need anything over a 4060ti/7600xt for that resolution"

this means you don't need to be spending more than $350 for a 1080p card. not that i am recommending a 4060ti

My bad, I saw you said: "I don't think you would need anything over a 4060ti/7600xt for that resolution"

the 1650 hasn't degraded, if anything it's gotten better with better driver optimizations

Its that Epic changed the definitions of the setting buckets for Fortnite.

Well no i used to get 150 fps during earlier days and now i cant even run dx 11 i have to run on performance mode at 73 fps average it might be because fortnite switched over to unreal engine but i think otherwise

Performance mode today is not the same graphic setting as performance mode in the early days. That is what changed to to give the appearance of performance regression
