Just the CPU.

In that case, looking at current UK prices on PCPartPicker, the Core i5 13600K (£287) or Core i7 13700K (£364) are going to offer you the most performance in that price range. The lowest I would go is the Core i5 13500 at £232.

I wouldn't worry too much about the CPU being "overkill." If you play a mix of games, you'll find games that are more CPU heavy and some that are more GPU heavy. The 3060 Ti isn't exactly a slow card - it'll do okay with even the i7 depending on the game, resolution, and settings.

Hi so,

I'm in need of a new CPU. I've currently got an i7 7700, with a 3060ti which isn't the best setup. I'm upgrading my PC, so I'm getting new RAM, CPU Cooler, PSU, MOBO etc; essentially everything except the GPU.

I realistically don't want the CPU to be overkill, nor do I want it to be underpowered of course, however I'd prefer if it were an Intel CPU.

I also do not have a budget, so feel free to suggest a variety of options.

Any LGA 1700 Intel Core series chips (12th, 13th, or 14th gen) will be a pretty big upgrade. Even the Core i3 12100F is about 25-30% faster than the i7 7700.

What is your budget and what country are you in?

I'm in the UK, and anything around the 200-400 mark is fine.

I'll probably take a look into the i7 13700k, cheers for your assistance : )
