Psu noise

Hi,

So this is the noise my psu (RM850e)

does when my pc is running even on idle. What does it mean? Is this dangerous to the components?

Please keep related posts in previous threads instead of making new ones for the same issue

 

However, this could be just normal running or possibly capacitor squeal, which can be not good, if its a new PSU id recommend RMAing

 

Just seen you have a problem RMAing, has your warranty ran out? I dont see how it would have as PSUs generally have a minimum of 5 year warranty and the RMe series released in 2023

 

Or is there something else?

I wouldn't worry about it, but yes you could RMA and most likely get a new PSU. Seem a little much if this is in idle, but hard to tell how loud it is from the recording.
