Nuc router

I am making a router for home use out of a nuc I have laying around, I am trying to use opnsense as I heard it has a better interface and more user friendly then pfsense. The problem is I can't use the web GUI via the IP address given. I am new to this and just trying to do it as a hobby so please don't rip me a new one. Thank you to all those that see this and can and do help.

Does it have multiple nics?

Can you ping the box?

Is your client computer on the same subnet?

I can't ping it as far as I have tried I will when I get back later, I do t have multiple nics and they should be on the same subnet as they are plugged into each other but I don't know and I will try and check.
