HDMI Switch issues

I thought about that. However my PS5 has no issues. At least that's what the video output test claims. I had similar issue with my other HDMI 1.4 usb Hub even before I plugged in that switch so that’s why I used this simple converter.

It's definitely got to be something along the line there. You can at least rule out the display or a particular cable being an issue by just going direct to the monitor from your PC. Otherwise it definitely sounds like a trial-by-fire situation.

Hello guys. Recently I set up HDMI switches for my PS5 and Notebook to my 2 monitors. So far I had 0 issues with PS5 switch but with my Notebook one I sometimes get weird connection glitch. to sum it up, Im going from Thunderbolt to HDMI 1.4 converter, to HDMI 2.1 Coupler to HDMI 2.0 switch and cable.both monitors are 1440p set to 60hz. Basically the monitor starts glitching like it cant read the signal but when I switch back and forth it starts working again. Is it possible the issue is caused by HDMI 1.4 converter? I would to hear any ideas. I found USB C - HDMI 2.1 converter but if I don't need it i would rather not buy it. I had this issue even before I implemented the switch but it was waaay less before.

If I had to put blame on something, I would assume that it could indeed be the HDMI converter. However, you can also run into signal integrity issues with couplers as well -- saw that quite often when running long HDMI cables. Unfortunately without some fancy tools, you can't really pin down what component is causing the issues without just swapping them out or trying different things.

I see the use of a lot of couplers here, maybe remove some of those if you can and see if that changes anything?

Edit: Just to clarify. I am using MacBook Air M1

Yeah. With the HUB I mentioned, the issue started after I used it’s Power Pass trough for charging. With basic one I would bet on signal since both monitors have issues with it that get resolved by resetting the connection. Well, I guess I have to try better HDMI converter then.
