I need advice on a 120mil AIO to cool a 10700F cant use a Air cooler due to space constraints (its an alienware that i am trying to upgrade for a friend) and it is overheating

What does it have currently?

In what conditions is it overheating?

What country?

What is the budget?

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

currently its the Alienware logoed 120mil AIO and the system freezes up after about 5 minutes of running but if i have the case open then it does not freeze up. im sure more airflow would fix the issue but that not really an option here

Since the 10700F has a tdp of 65W, any decent AIO should be enough to cool it as long as there is airflow to the radiator. Do you have space constraints ? A 240mm AIO is still budget friendly and will give you more headroom in case the ambient temperature goes up.

there is physically only room for a 120 though it can be a thick rad

and the country is USA

budget would like to keep it under $100 USD

You'll have to be more specific because there's a set of Alienware desktops that used proprietary mounting hardware, where the CPU cooler backplate is built into the chassis and not modular. So most standard coolers won't work, if that's the case.

luckily this one has a standard 4 pin fan header and 4  pin pump header and the mounting seams to be standard as well

In that case, I'd steer clear of 120mm AIOs. I recently researched into 120mm AIOs and found very little options, most of which are older models. They seem to be obsolete at this point, likely because most scenarios where a 120mm AIO would be used, a low profile Thermalright air cooler or small tower cooler will perform on par if not better.

Noting I've bought probably half a dozen 120mm AIOs over the years since I used to mount them on GPUs with NZXT Kraken G10 brackets. I even still have one of those Corsair 120mm AIOs.

i would love to use an air cooler but even a low profile one will not fit there would be nowhere to pull air from
