Was upgrading my 1080ti to a 7800xt.

All was well before install.

Installed, no signal but gpu lights come on.

Reseated, nada. Switched back to old GPU. Nothing, lights but no signal. I noticed the 24 pin atx needed to be pushed down a little. Couple times i had to move it then the system turns on. Still the same. Now noticing a red light on motherboard for CPU. I don't think it was on before but i have my case facing away so i would have never known.

Tried a different known working power supply. Same. How could a simple GPU swap go so wrong?. My motherboard is a GIGABYTE B650 AORUS PRO AX.   CPU is a 7800x3d. I never enabled EXPO so not an over voltage thing.

PLZ HELP!

1. You may have unseated or damaged a component while switching GPUs. It is rare but it happens.

2. You tried using the same Windows install and the GPU drivers are not happy you switched to the competitor.

3. You got an entirely unrelated component failure. It happens too.

In all cases, the best approach would be to strip down to the minimum number of components (Motherboard, PUS, CPU and RAM) and try booting up. You then add one component at a time until you find the one that was causing problems. If your computer does not boot in minimum configuration, then you have a faulty component. Try using them in another computer one at a time.

Good luck !
