You're thinking of the somewhat recent issue with Anti-Lag+ and Valve VAC bans in Counterstrike.

I remember hearing about amd graphics cards flagging an anticheat for a game because of the fps enhancing or something like that. Was that real or am I just being messed with and if it was real is it still happening and for what game/anticheat? I know I could have just googled it but I think it was easier and more reliable to ask you guys.

Yes the Anti-lag feature was editing game files thus getting flagged and people getting VAC banned. Most of them should be undone already
