I just put in my gpu for my build today. It is a Rx 580. Before this my computer worked fine with no gpu. When I installed it the computer turns on but there is no signal from the gpu hdmi and the motherboard hdmi. When I unplug the gpu the motherboard hdmi works fine. I assumed this means I need to install the right AMD driver. I installed the software on their website but it appears to be a system that requires the gpu to be installed to read the device and install the appropriate drivers. As stated before I cannot even get the monitor to turn on with the gpu in and the gpu needs to be in to install the drivers. Does anyone have any idea of a way to fix this?

okay, so a few questions:

1) Are you plugging in power to the GPU (it won't boot without that)

2) Are you 100% Certain the GPU Works?

Also, there's likely a BIOS Setting that will allow you to keep onboard graphics working while a DGPU is installed, if you find that you can probably run with onboard as well as the 580.

3) Have you tried booting in safe mode?

1. Yes I am sure everything is plugged in.
2. Got it off eBay in “working” condition. Fans work idk if that means anything.
3. I have not tried that and I’m not sure how to do that.

I’m sure it has power but I can’t find that setting in the bios, I’m still looking.

Update: I managed to get the driver download but changing the bios as recommended. There is another issue with the driver that I will look into later but the main thing was that the system recognized the gpu so I have access to driver downloads.
