Hi,

my build is just few months old. Last night while gameing (Cyberpunk) after 3h, PC just turned off. I tried to power it on, but nothing, like it was dead.

This morning i tried, and it went on.

PSU is my frst pick and it stil is, but it's just few months old and it's 1200w platinum by BeQuiet.

Overheating problem? I have 3x140mm intake fans and airflow case (H7). CPU cooler is Noctua nh d15. Case fans (one of thame) makes strange noise at low speed. Fans are BeQuiet Silent Wings 4 High speed.

If it's MBO it would not run after few hours. Right?

What can i do now to detect the problem? Any advice?

RAM is 2x16 GGPU is 7900XTX

MBO is B550 Rog gaming

CPU is 5800X3D (undervolted)

Also i use costum cables for PSU, but they are the same brand as my PSU and they match PSU type.

I'm a bit worried you went for a very high wattage power supply for such a system that wouldn't really suck more than 750w really... Since you got custom cables, maybe something is wrong with them. Could you try using the stock cables and see if everything is okay? Worst case, your problem might be one of the following:

  • The CPU is overheating (double-check your temps during a session)
  • The GPU is overheating (again, check your temps with HW Monitor or MSI Afterburner and have it display on the screen)
  • Some other component is overheating or is faulty (sometimes the NVMe drive can overheat and shut the system down, though that would usually result in a BSOD)
  • The Power supply has become faulty

Once you figure out the culprit, the good news is that your components have individual warranties! So you can contact the manufacturer of the faulty part and get a replacement from them! I want to remind you though, if it is an over heating problem, you can easily solve that with a new application of thermal paste and check your airflow patterns inside the case!

Could you potentially upload some photos of your PC to your post as well? There could be some clues to potentially why this is happening.

  • 2 weeks later...

I continue to use my PC and it was normal. Then, again after 3-4h of Cyberpunk it shuts down again. This time i had turned on my metrics. At 100% case fan use, cpu fan use and at about 60% GPU fan use, my temps were 57° for CPU and 61° for GPU.

Can i rule out overheating?

I would not be able tu turn it on for some hours. It' like its dead.

Never had this type of problem. Guess it's something about PSU
