Nzxt Cam causing overheating?

Go to solution Solved by Mumintroll,

I haven't used that app myself

But since you updated the app maybe a config file, a settings profile or whatever was left behind from the old version which the new version read and applied?

Isn't there a revert settings to default in that app you can try?

If all else perhaps it's for the best to not use that app then...

Hello,

I am helping a friend with his PC. He has a NZXT prebuilt with a i5 12600kf. Temps are 40 in bios but as soon as the PC launches and NZXT cam opens the temps jump over 100 in both NZXT cam and coretemp. If I exit NZXT cam the temps drop back to 40. It runs Cinebench r15 with a score of 2399 and temps of 75. I uninstalled NZXT cam and installed the new version and same thing. Is there something set weird in NZXT cam causing this issue? Not familiair with it and it overheats pretty quick once it is open.

Ah, yeah i missed a config file hiding in roaming apps it seems, it didn't look like it saved anything but it must have had some weird setting saved some where.

It seems like it was either shutting off the pump, or putting it into a super low setting. Did you monitor pump speed at all during this?

I didn't monitor the pump speed except when cam is open and when Cam is open it is like 2800. But before as soon as Cam was open the temps went from 20-30 to 100 in like 5 seconds. If I closed NZXT Cam though I could run cinebench and 3dmark with perfect scores and temps. Now its not overheating but the lcd display is turning off. Researching seems like NZXT Cam has just sucked recently.
