(Win 10) 0xc0000185 occuring after fresh install

ekkonox

Hello.

I build a PC for a friend, and everything was running fine for two days. Suddenly we got a drive repair on boot, windows still working.

At the next restart BSOD code 0xc0000185.

Tried fixing it with help of Google, ended up doing a clean reinstall.

Same problem again, PC works for a few restarts, then BSOD.

I tried everything I found on Google, from repair, CMD repair, various programs, used different boot drives created on different PCs.

I got a fatal Error ID 41 too, fixed it by changing power settings.

CPU: i5 13600k

Mainboard: Gigabyte B760m ds3h

Ram: Kingston fury beast 2*16gb 5600mhz

GPU: MSI 4070ti

M.2: 1tb Kingston nv2

Psu: 850 bequiet

Windows 10 pro registered license

I can't post any kind of log, because now no other repair option works, so only way is to wipe the SSD in another PC and reinstall.

Only thing I haven't tried is bios update, but I once bricked a Mainboard so I don't want to do it if this wouldn't fix the problem.

Thanks for any help.

That BSOD code generally means corrupted files. This can happen because of software, but also as a result of hardware failure.

If you got another drive you can use as boot drive, give it a try. Also, a loose data or power cable can cause hardware failures too.

Good luck !
