what gpu to get......

Could be a tough one, I know that there's the MSI Ventus 2X 4060 that's available in white. Considering that 40 series is the newest it'll have the longest support and latest features. However this one is slightly above your budget (when buying new). A used 3070 should be about 300 bucks, but if your budget is that tight I'm sure that 3060ti models start around 240, and it shouldn't be that much more expensive to get a white one

Avoid 4060 and 4060TI.

@coltswagen

what GPU do you already have?

Where do you live?

What will you use it for?

What games will you play?

What resolution?

We kinda need all this to give you somewhat of an accurate suggestion.

A random guess would be something like a used RTX 2080 / Super. They should have come down in price well enough. They're in your price range and perform pretty good still for the money:

Go used.

The 4060 is a bad value.

I might be experienced, but I'm human and I do make mistakes. Trust but Verify! I edit my messages after sending them alot, please refresh before posting your reply. Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

We kinda need all this to give you somewhat of an accurate suggestion.

A random guess would be something like a used RTX 2080 / Super. They should have come down in price well enough. They're in your price range and perform pretty good still for the money:

Doesnt the 3070 beat the 2080?

Id say the 2080ti is a better value thanks to the extra vram if you happen to find it around used 3070 pricing

Will entirely depend on where you live, which we're still waiting on OP. Around me the 3070 costs £150~ more than a 2080S whilst in benchmarks barely breaking into double digits more territory. I'd not pay £150 extra for 1-5% extra performance.

Used markets could be completely different elsewhere skewing the worth of a certain GPU where in other countries it's the logical buy.
