I have a relatively old PC, with the specs:

MSI A320M grenade motherboard, bios version AK4

1060 6GB

I had a Ryzen 5 1500X and bought a new Ryzen 5 5500 to upgrade a few days ago. Was my first time switching a CPU myself but managed to do it, the bios recognises the processor but I'm stuck in a windows auto repair loop - after I boot it goes straight to the Continue, Advanced options, Close menu. I can't seem to get it into safe mode (reboot settings never show up), I've also run the CHKDSK command but that didn't fix the issue either. Am I stuck with having to reinstall Windows or is there anything I can do?

Did you update your bios before putting that 5500 in there ?
Seems like the 5500 require quote "Latest Beta BIOS" (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/A320M-GRENADE/support#cpu), so I'm guessing probably "7A39vAK4(Beta version)" or "7A39vAK2(Beta version)" at least. (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/A320M-GRENADE/support#bios)
