If ya find anyrhing reach back. But so far that cyberpower is a pretty decent deal. Just the normal poor airflow case and low end cpu cooler which is ok to cool the cpu

New here, excuse me if I’m not in the proper forum section for this. I have a dell optiplex 7010 DT that i would like to build to something capable of running a few games every once in a while at a decent rate. I came across this Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050ti 4GB, GDDR5 Graphics Card  and I was wondering if it would work for me

Budget (including currency):

Country:

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

A lot more info needed.

What are the specs of the 7010?

What games will you be playing?

Resolution and target framerate?

Budget?

Location?

I mean even a top specced i7 3770 7010 with a 1050ti is NOT capable of doing 60fps in modern games due to cpu limits and the 1050ti is NO LONGER a 1080p gaming card for a lot of games from the last 3 years. It's simply fallen behind too much.

You have to keep in mind that this dell is over 10 years old by now and the 1050ti was a low end card from 2016.

Honestly the budget is about $300-400 and the I’ll probably just be playing casual valorant or Fortnite matches at medium graphics I suppose. Sorry if I’m not the best at the information aspect of this, I’m still new to The PC community

Yeah thats not playing fortnite well no matter the gpu.

So a quick sketch a i7 4770 will play forynite at around 100fps HOWEVER it's quite unstable and a lot of differenr frametimes which means the experience feels choppy and bad.

Your i5 is well below spec as you need at least 8 threads and you only have 4.

for 3-400 id honestly start over with a used gaming pc.

Try having a look on ebay, facrbook marketplace,... for a ryzen gaming pc.

I'd aim for at least a ryzen 3000 series. A 3600 or better.

For example this is not bad. WAAAAY better than anything thay optiplex couls ever be and that gpu is also WAY faster

The i5 should be fine for valorant if you aren’t trying to be MLG on the framerate.  Fortnite has grown in it’s resource needs, unfortunately.  A quick gander on craigslist or fb marketplace might get you a cheap 2600k, 3770, or 3770s which would double your threadcount.  I got a 3770 for $20 last year for a buddy who had a 3240.

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.

Even on those fortnite frametimes are a mess these days. The ue5 migration made it run heaps worse
