There will be no loss in resolution, but you will need the appropriate cable for the PS3 controller, and the drivers to allow it to work with windows. You can find the drivers and setup instructions here: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/45610/how-to-use-your-ps-3-controllers-as-a-joystick-for-your-windows-pc/

I actually do that a lot. Use "motioninjoy". That is a program that helps you to use your ps3 controller as a 360 controller, since most games support xbox 360 controllers.

Just wondering if its possible to play pc games on a tv by connecting my pc to a tv using a hdmi cable and using a ps3 controller. Will there be any loss in resolution?

i do that alot, but some EA games run on 800x600 resolution with some old TVs so if u get that just play in window mode.
