I have a new HTC One M8 and I absolutely love it and want to protect it. I have been using the screen protectors that you can buy from Verizon to protect the screen and a Spigen SlimArmor case. What screen protectors do you guys recommend? These seem to get scratched extremely easily and look terribly after a few weeks of moderate usage.

None, just use the screen as is, it's not made of gorilla glass for nothing, that stuff is very tough. I've had my Nexus 5 for months now, never use a screen protector OR even a case and there's not a scratch on it. Just don't put it in the same pocket as your keys.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

There are tempered glass screen protectors and I think they even have oleophobic coating, they are quite expensive but they will protect your phone niceley.

Gorilla glass is not perfect it still scratches, so I would recommend a screen protector if you are keeping your phone in the long run.

That's my biggest problem, my keys scratch the shit out of it. I need to switch which side the keys go....

YEah that's just an adaptation you need to make, saves you all the hassle and money from those protectors (which are just plastic after all).

I have seen those and was asking if those in particular are worth the $30 or so....

If you break the glass in the first 6 months you can get it fixed for free

I know but I am not hoping to do that....

Keep your keys on a lanyard

I do but that only goes so far and can get annoying. Luckily I wont have a car for the next 4 years once I sell my current ride (city life) so it wont be as big of a  problem.

Personally I find this whole screen protector malarkey ridiculous, the barest minimum of considerate handling of your device will keep it in good condition for years. Why on earth would you spend money on protective measures that interfere with the phone's design (bulky cases) or ever need to be replaced(screen covers). As for the glass protectors, what on earth is the point of that? They'll get scratched much easier than the actual screen and then you still have a scratched screen to use. Unless you replace it for a stupid amount of money every time, which is just terrible value. And if the covers last long enough without getting scratched, well your actual screen would probably be fine anyway.

I just don't understand <-<
