Can you provide us details on what components you already have in your computer, if it's a big brand computer that was bought pre-built, could you give us the model number?

For nVidia surround (assuming 3 monitors) You need either 5xx in SLI (2x580 e.g or 3x) or 6xx (680 for example) or above.

You should be able to use what ever cables the GPU supports.

AMD's Eyefinity is similar: http://www.amd.com/US/PRODUCTS/TECHNOLOGIES/AMD-EYEFINITY-TECHNOLOGY/FOR-CONSUMERS/Pages/for-consumers.aspx

I think eyefinity can be done on the AMD equals of the 5xx series.

CPU: Intel I5 2500k Cooling:  Custom Loop 200mm+240mm Rad XSPC CPU block + XSPC Titan Block GPU: Zotac 780 MoBo: ASRock Z68 Extreme 4 PSU: Corsiar AX750 Storage: 2x Samsung F3 1Tb 1x Seagate 3TB  1x 128GB SSD Case: Corsair 600t (White)

depends on how many monitors u need

If you need 2 monitors that can be achieved even with onboard video

and a VGA and a DVI cable (most on board video cards have both outputs)

and at least one of those monitors must have DVI port

But if you want 3 or more u will need a dedicated graphic card with eyefinity (AMD)

I would say nVidia too but most nVidia cards require SLI (dual cards) to get sourround vision

About cables u will probably need 3 DVI cables and an active displayport to DVI adapter

since most video cards have dual DVI outs and one or more displayports

I got this one from newegg:

If you have a graphics card in there already this should be fairly easy.

can you get us the part number on that?

With most modern graphics cards that have two or more ports, the drivers/software provided can set up the multiply monitors automatically. The next thing would be to pretty much find the right cables, (DVI, HDMI, Display Port, etc.) and build up your system. There also are plenty of tutorials on this topic on youtube, ehow, and many other websites with such information.

I wouldnt say all 5xxx since i wanted to get the iceq 5670 and it had a VGA+DVI+Displayport

U might preffer dealing with digital outputs only, I heard VGA as one of them might get you issues

I finally got the HIS HD5770, and it worked fine even for gaming, now I got an identical HD5770

going for crossfire

Only the >600 series needs SLI I believe.
