Need a self build pc to last another year of school, The ram is getting maxed with mainly using google cloud for cs. Listing specs looking to just increase ram to 64gb 4 stocks of 16 

 

 

Current specs.(age 4)

Intel Core i5 8th Gen - Core i5-8600K Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.6 GHz (4.3 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 95W BX80684I58600K

MSI Z370 KRAIT GAMING LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z370 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard

Team T-Force Vulcan 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Desktop Memory Model TLGD416G3000HC16CDC01

MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card GTX 1070 Ti DUKE 8G

 

Looking for suggestions on ram and speed. or other ideas to have cloud run faster and not eat 90% ram

8th gen CPUs support up to 32GB modules, but they usually need a BIOS update to do that. Since you have Z370, it was released before high density DDR4 and might not be happy with single rank 16GB sticks on the stock BIOS.

 

I'd suggest emailing MSI and asking them what their latest BIOS supports, just to save you having to worry about it.
