Budget (including currency): 1100-1200 €

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: City Skylines, Anno, and other newer games like Starfield. 1080p atm, but possibly 1440p in the future. Light production workloads too, but mainly gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hello,

my friend wanted to get himself a new computer so he came to me for advice. I came up with the following parts list:

PCPartPicker Part List: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/qTt4MV

He wants to go with AM5 because of the possible longevity of the socket and thus future upgrade-ability.

Please leave your suggestions for improvements, thanks.

- I prefer to buy a 7700 and use the included cooler (wraith prism) than buy a peerless assassin, but the peerless assassin is great value.

- I upgraded the storage to 2TB, 1TB is going to run low very fast for those kind of modded games and production stuff.

- Cheaper case and motherboard, just to make some room in the budget, but the board is obviously a compromise that you may not like.

Thank you for your recommendations.

I talked again with my friend.

He already bought the Motherboard, because he gets Starfield as a bonus with it.

Also he decided now on the Fractal Meshify 2 Compact as a case, because he likes it visually and it has a USB-C front header.

Sadly this would be over budget as 1200 would be the upper limit possible.

It costs 100 Eur more, but the extra performance it gives is imo not worth the extra price

I am aware of Geizhals, but thanks for the hint. Currently we are using idealo.de for the best deals.

I'd still get the build even if it is a bit over budget

for gaming it's not

You could try this build but it'll perform quite a bit worse than the 7800 xt build and this one's only 60 euros less
