My new rig is nearly complete apart from its GPU, which is an MSI RTX 3070 Ventus 3X from an old machine and I'm looking at which 40 series GPU to upgrade to. I've got a 7800x3D CPU and have dual 1440p monitors and only use my PC for gaming and watching YouTube, but I still want to get as much performance as possible without it being overkill. I'm not looking to go any lower than a 4070 Ti, and have a slight preference to MSI cards, but that's not set in stone. I have had a look at AMD cards, but I'd prefer to have as few problems switching GPUs as possible and don't want to need to reset Windows just because DDU doesn't work. My main games are Destiny 2, Starfield and RDR2.

No real budget, just don't want to be spending more than necessary. Any recommendations?

You seems to have pigeon holded yourself into only Nvidia and only 4070Ti and above. This leaves you with 3 total options, though realistically only two as 4090 is an awful buy for only 1440p. You've got two cards, both TERRIBLE values so it comes down to how much you want to spend. If all you do is play games, 7900xtx or xt make more sense.

I agree with @GuiltySpark_

Really DDUing NVidia drivers and installing AMD ones isn't a big deal, that's what I did a few month ago, no reason for that to kill Windows or whatever

7900XTX is a really fine card for "ultra" 1440p, and is decently proced
