Hi people!

I am currently building a low end pc out of a office Pc I got for free. I had to cut the shroud of the Asus Cerberus 1050 ti I got for the build so it would fit with the cpu cooler. Accidentally I cut the cable connecting both of the gpu fans. The gpu has one mini 4 pin header on the PCB. I can’t find a replacement cable online only mini 4 pin to Dual normal 4 pin wich wouldn’t fit the gpu fans. I have tried just twisting the cables back together but I’m just not capable enough to do so.

would love if anyone could help me find a replacement cable.

Have you tried twisting and then soldering? Alternatively, there are splicing connectors that encase the splice in both solder and plastic by heating it up.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

I will buy the splicing connectors, those should work, didn’t know they existed….. could have used them a lot earlier XD

Fantastic!! I'm glad that solved the problem! Which type did you use?

These, don’t know if they have a correct name or anything

That's exactly what I meant! We're they as easy to use as the maker claims?

It would have been easier with a heat gun instead of a candle but I’m impressed how easy it was, just pull away the isolation on both ends stick them in and hold it over a candle while rotating a bit until the soder melts.

Where did you buy it?
