I wanted to know if it is worth buying ipad 9th generation now (oct 2023) ? 

Seeing that it is 2 years old how many possible updates can one expect from the 9th gen ipad ?

Given that Apple tends to support their mobile devices for around 6-7 years on average, you'll likely receive updates for that long too.

Only you can answer that, depending on your use-case, budget, and price of the iPad you're looking to acquire.

We don't know what you do with your devices.

 

The 6th Gen iPad from 2018 still got updated to the current iOS17 (this is probably its last major update), so you still have plenty of longevity left if you're getting a 9th gen.

I just want to use it as a secondary display, taking notes, making diagrams nothing else I guess.
