CD Reader/Writer for laptop Recommendations. Is the SDRW-08D2S-U LITE from Asus good? Any other better "portable?" CD readers today around ~US$40?

Pretty much anything you can find today will be equivalent, it's not like there have been any evolutions to optical discs in the past decade... Question will mainly be whether you want blu-ray support or not.

I'm still one of the stubborn people who still buys CD albums and put them in my MacBook Pro (Mid-2012). My MBP is getting to slow and i'm planning on putting my new albums on my Asus Laptop which uses windows 11 and was wondering if this is external CD drive from Asus is good. Just mainly ripping music albums to the windows media player

Thanks. No, will not be reading a Blu-ray reader.
