GPU upgrade choices?

I'm saving up to upgrade my current GTS 450 to a GTX 750ti

my question is...are there other cards that's on the same price point as the 750ti but performs better and that a 500 watt PSU can handle?

If you can wait even longer, a GTX 760, R9 270(X), and R9 280 might be viable choices. An immediate upgrade would be the GTX 750 Ti or R7 265, though. There, you are going to choose between power consumption and raw power.
