Help choosing laptop

Hello!
I was looking to buy a new laptop but had a question. I found two laptops I like but one has "Optane memory", what is it? should I choose that one?. My budget is 600 dolars and I will mainly use it for lots of math related computations and number crunching as well as some python scripts.
