Obviously there's a few components you could change and save a good amount of money on, but it doesn't look like money's an issue in your case so in that respect looks gucci my friend

Me: Yeah I just really can't get my H220 working again, I've tried everything that was suggested in the forum.

Brian (Swiftech Support): Hmm, have you tried slapping it?

I wouldn't recommend a samsung SSD or HDD at all, there are cheaper and more reliable brands around, also a great help to building any pc is using this website for partial compatibility help.

That's a hench GPU too, you could probably downgrade and get more price for performance really.

Nice choice of case too :)

If you''re only going medium editing, you could probably cut back to a 4670k and overclock if a fair bit, gpu could probably cut back to gtx 780.

for the ssd you could probably pick something a bit cheaper. Not sure what exactly though

What if I told you that cheap isn't always better. Samsung is one of the few flash manufacturers. They control everything when they are making  a SSD: From the flash to the controller to the Software. Many other manufacturers only put a sticker on a Sandforce based SSD from an OEM.

Anyways. The build looks good. If you want to edit video on this build, I would suggesting keeping the 4770k. Is there a particular reason, why you went with Dominator Platinum Ram? If money doesn't play a role, then just keep it. Owen summed it up pretty well.

Thanks guy... A couple of you mentioned to go for something cheaper... Could you specify a bit please?? Thanks

First the SSD. The 840 Pro is fast, but the 840 Evo has a great value for the money. A 500GB Evo costs about 270$. They are similar in terms of speed.

Second the RAM. Dominator Platinum RAM looks epic, but isn't much different from most other 1866 memory, apart from its looks and its cooler. So if you like the looks and can live with the price, then keep it. Otherwise, take a look at the Corsair Vengeance Pro kit. It is available in serveral colors (I would get red, It will look good on your board). It also is 50$ cheaper than the platinum Ram.

Third, the board. The Gaming 9 AC is a pretty high end gaming board, but too expensive for what it has to offer. There is no Sata Express and no second Lan port, which other boards in that price range deliver. If you can sacrifice the Wireless AC, then look at the Asus z97 deluxe. It is from Asus mainstream line, so no Killer Lan. If you want that, look at the Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7.

300$ is a lot of money for a motherboard, so think twice about spending that much on it. I would get one for around 200$. And if you really need wireless ac on your board, just get a (m)PCIe card.

cheers, Sirtoby

Thank you very much... I'll look into those components before making my decision...

Do you have a budget? and preference to form factor (size) looks like intel is a good choice for high end if you have the money to do so.

if you are putting a nice m/board and components i think its worth getting a slightly nicer case (sorry R4 fans) the R4 is good and easy to work with, good design etc but everyone has them. the Corsair air 540 is a nice case and comes in different colours.

all black cases are yesterday to me anyway, next one i am going to build from aluminium. or go for earthy colour scheme.

nice spec of components and if money isnt an issue then the Platinum ram is worth it :)

there also might be a better cooler choice. but all i can do is advice and you need to ask yourself do you just want a high end system and not to fussed about its looks or do you want something totally custom and to your taste and needs?

the best thing about PC building is the choice avaialble and no 2 systems have to be the same.

got to love Asus components
